I started buying clothes at thrift stores back in high school. I wasn’t trying to be financially or environmentally conscious at the time; the thrift store was the best place to buy humorous t-shirts. As time went on, I started realizing that, in some cases, the quality of the clothes that arrived at the local thrift shop was passable for at least semi-formal wear.

The shirt I’m wearing in this shot is from before I made my commitment this year. It is originally from Le Chateau, and I estimate that the shirt originally cost about $30. I bought this shirt for $4.99. At the same time, I bought a sweater to go with it, also originally from Le Chateau, that cost $7.99.
